Warm milk can be soothing for the throat. Honey has the same effect as medications like levodropropizine and dextromethorphan on your throat. Mix two teaspoons of dark honey with warm milk and drink it up.

4. Gargling saltwater

5. Peppermint tea and vapor

Peppermint leaves have healing properties and act as decongestants. Menthol helps to break down mucus. You can make peppermint tea or inhale vapors from a steam bath. Add 3 to 4 drops of peppermint oil in hot water, cover your head with a towel, and breathe deeply.
